//overview

+ character development
+ story board development

Project Scope: Create a childrens book and extensive character and world development in order to illustrate and narrate its story line. The 3 main characters for this book are Octavia & Webster, two adolescent spiders, and Spryer, a mischievous kid jungle lion.

Challenges

Identifying Pain Points: Spiders are scary...even the cute ones. With that being said, 01creative took to the drawing board (pun intended) to do some extensive character development, making the spiders look warm, friendly, and approachable.

Solutions

Development Process:

Character Development Phase: With spiders, it's all about the eyes and the legs. Our approach was to keep the world, along with the characters, warm and pillowy.

Implementation

+ Design and Development: We decided to only have one set of big round eyes and make the front set of arms round at the tips and pudgy fingers. Those simple changes made them more approachable. Their backs were large enough to place symbols on them and make them easily distinguishable from the other. The lion cub followed the same physics and body types to match.
